How to Build a Pipe Desk for Home Schooling with EMT conduits
Building a pipe desk for home schooling is a great way to save money and get a sturdy desk for your children. EMT conduits are the perfect material for this project because they are solid and easy to work with. This project can be completed at the weekend and only requires essential tools and materials. Follow these steps to build your own pipe desk for home schooling.
Why a pipe desk is excellent for home schooling?
Pipe desks are an excellent option for home schooling because they are easy to customize to fit your children's needs. For example, if you have multiple children in different grades, a pipe desk can be built with multiple levels so that each child is at the right level. In addition, pipe desks are durable and can last for many years. This is because pipes are solid and sturdy materials that won't deteriorate with time. It's also easy to change the height of a desk by adding or removing pipes when needed. You can even remove the pipes to clean them.
Measuring and cutting the pipes
1. Measure the child's height and mark where you want the level to be for each child. Then, use a piece of string to make a line at that height on the pipe.
2. Measure your child from knee to elbow and add 10 inches (to allow growth). This is the length of pipe you'll need.
3. Cut the pipe to the desired length using a hacksaw.
4. Using a marker, mark where you want to put on each leg of the desk and push them into the cement (make sure they're level with each other).
5. Fill the pipes with cement, using a piece of wood to push it in.
Assembling the frame of the desk
You'll need to put the frame together in a triangle shape (you can choose any size, but I chose 8 feet long). Start by putting one of the legs into the cement (level with each other) and then secure it using wood or cement blocks. Put the other leg into the cement and secure it with wood or cement blocks. Put the other leg in and secure it as well. You'll have to put cement on the blocks so they don't fall.
Conclusion
You can use it for the things you want. I used my desk for homework, but you can also use it to store your stuff. It's easier to build than a table and way cheaper.
